D.A.W.G.
D.A.W.G. (Doing Awesome Work for God) is the after-school ministry that is held the first Monday of each month for youth in the fourth-sixth grades of the community. The youth gather at 3:50 at the church, immediately following school dismissal. When the youth arrive at the church, they have the opportunity to complete any homework they might have, assisted by the leaders or the other youth. This is followed by snack, devotions, an activity, closing prayer and departure. The purpose of this ministry is to reach out to our youth and let them experience God's love. Being an outreach ministry, DAWG tries to reach into the entire community, not only the churches. What the youth learn at an early age remains with them for the rest of their lives.
Adult leaders of the D.A.W.G. program are Pastor Andreas, Jacie Burbach and Syndi Vogle. It is the hope of the leaders that the community see the kids out and about and witness their commitment to God. We also want the kids to know they are examples of God's love in our community. God is truly at work in this ministry, not just at Immanuel, but in the community of Coleridge.
